Viper's most defining characteristic is her obscure backstory. This would imply that the chemicals are, at least in some part, derived from some naturally occurring poisons (this is speculation, it is not canon). However, due to her advanced scientific background, Viper likely knows this, but calls the poison a 'Toxin' nonetheless. For artificially manufactured products with similar properties, the term 'Toxicant' is to be used. This would technically be a misnomer, as the term 'Toxin' refers to harmful biological compounds that can be found in nature, and are produced by living organisms. When referring to her abilities, Viper refers to the poisonous chemicals as 'Toxins'.

The smoke will eventually dissipate in air if left for long enough, and so the emitter must constantly remain active to retain the smoke's integrity. These chemicals, which she manufactures herself, can be released into the air through specialized emitters to create small 'clouds' of the toxic gas. Viper's abilities are based on self-made concoctions, comprising of toxicants which cause rapid respiratory damage when inhaled. Despite this she is able to express appreciation, being willing to congratulate those who have impressed her. Almost every Agent, at some point or the other, comments on her hate-driven mind. Her personality reflects this through the passive-aggressiveness present in all her interactions and the resentment she feels towards others. While once a brilliant scientist, she no longer thinks clearly, having become hateful and biased in her tests. She is the second member of the VALORANT Protocol, joining along with Brimstone. Phoenix players tend to visit the pit since they don’t mind almost anything when their ultimate is on.Viper is a brilliant scientist coming from the United States. Yet be careful of the ultimates like Brimstone‘s and Breach‘s since they also have AoE damage with grand hitboxes to counter you. Viper can see the outlines of her enemies while in the pit, yet any other vision is crippled inside.Ĭombined use of Toxic Screen and Viper’s Pit makes the area almost impossible to infiltrate. So you need to visit your pit frequently to keep it intact. Leaving the pit reduces the cloud integrity. Use your ultimate near spikes and wait for your guests inside. Viper’s Pit is quite useful in planting/defusing spikes since it conceals a grand area, while the toxic effect not being implicated on you but everyone else. Like all the other abilities of her, the pit do Decay Damage to Agents inside. Viper‘s ultimate is a box of gas cloud emerging around her upon casting. So it is also essential to place and re-deploy the bomb to strategic areas. Unfortunately and also luckily, Poison Cloud dissolves after a certain time, depending on how much Fuel left. Playing as Viper, it’s refreshing to think that it will last forever. Getting the habit of picking your bomb after its original placement lost its importance will earn you more possibilities to frag the enemy. Poison Cloud is a re-deployable ability, so remember to pick and re-place your bomb when necessary. Viper‘s abilities are all friendly-fire, meaning anyone but Viper will be damaged. In addition to concealing Viper and anything that gets inside, it has a side-effect: Decay Damage. Poison Cloud is another smoke ability on VALORANT yet there is something about Viper to make it differ from others. This ability can be RE-USED more than once and can be picked up to be REDEPLOYED. RE-USE the ability to create a toxic gas cloud at the cost of fuel. FIRE to throw the emitter that perpetually remains throughout the round.
